I’m glad you’re reading the second—and most important—article in this series. Here, I’ll tell you about a tool that helps you deeply understand how any human being is wired. But the focus, of course, is on your child—and on you.

So, by reading this article, you’ll learn:

  • how DNA and binary code are connected

  • what happens at the moment of birth

  • what Human Design is

  • how it can help in raising a child

Human Design is an empirical self-knowledge system that came into the world in 1987 through a mystical event. There are many ways to talk about it, but I want to show you its beauty and depth.

So I’ll start with how the Chinese Book of Changes, binary code, astrology, and human DNA are connected. How a synthesis of ancient wisdom and scientific understanding of the genome becomes a unique model of consciousness. And how to translate that into everyday advice on the level of “brush your teeth”—tips that can completely transform how you see your child and improve your parenting experience and family atmosphere.

But first—a heartfelt confession

The next 8 paragraphs may seem a bit boring.

In them, I’ve packed a full explanation of the mechanics behind Human Design. When I first got into the system, I really missed this kind of clear breakdown showing exactly where the Bodygraph comes from.

So, if you’re not someone who needs to know what’s under the hood, feel free to scroll down to the Benefits for your child section.

But just know that somewhere in Berlin, a “nerd” just hiccuped.

A brief dive into genetics

Every cell in our body contains DNA, which stores all the essential instructions for the organism. All living beings—from goldfish to humans—use just 22 codons to encode information. The names of these codons sound very pharmaceutical, and you’ve probably heard some: Alanine (Ala), Leucine (Leu), Tyrosine (Tyr), etc. Each codon is a trio of nucleotides, and there are only four types of those.

Alt text

The codon Ala (Alanine) = Guanine + Cytosine + Uracil, or GCU

So a fragment of genetic code might look like this:

Alt text

What if we represent each nucleotide as binary?

Alt text

Then, Ala (Alanine) = Guanine + Cytosine + Uracil = G + C + U = 01 + 11 + 00

Or Ala = 011000

You can write any codon this way:

Alt text

Now we can write DNA fragments in binary:

Alt text

How many ways can you arrange six 0s and 1s?

That’s 2 to the 6th power—64. So, only 64 “words” are needed to encode DNA, each one made of six bits.

A visit to ancient China

Interestingly, in ancient China, there’s also a system based on 64 elements: The I Ching, or Book of Changes, which describes 64 hexagrams. Each one represents an archetype or aspect of life. Together, they form a description of all aspects of existence.

A hexagram is a sequence of six solid or broken lines. For example, is hexagram number 48, called The Well.

Now, if we replace solid and broken lines with 0s and 1s, we get:

䷯ = 011010

Look familiar? Yep, that’s Alanine!

In fact, the I Ching hexagrams inspired modern computer science. German mathematician Gottfried Leibniz came up with binary code after studying them.

Alt text

Through binary, we can link the 64 I Ching hexagrams with the amino acids that make up human DNA

The Wheel

Now let’s see what happens if we place the hexagrams in a circle and align them with the ecliptic

Alt text

It looks like a zodiac—except instead of 12 sectors, we have 64.

This lets us assign celestial bodies—like the Moon or Sun—to specific hexagrams at any given moment. For instance, on January 12, 2025, the Moon will be in the 53rd hexagram, and a few hours later—in the 62nd.

Alt text

Any celestial body and I Ching hexagram can be connected through time

Human + Cosmos

This brings up the key question: How exactly does the surrounding universe affect us—even at the moment of birth? And how is that influence reflected in our bodies, minds, and lives?

The neutrino ocean

We live in an invisible ocean of particles constantly passing through everything. These particles are called neutrinos. They’re so small and light they’re hard to detect—but scientists have proven they exist. And more importantly, they have mass—even if just a tiny bit.

Alt text

Every second, trillions of neutrinos pass through your body. Most come from deep within stars, including our Sun. They travel at near-light speed and pass through everything—Earth, our bodies, atoms—almost without interacting.

The Imprint

Everything above is consistent with mainstream science. But to continue, we now have to step off the edge.

What I say next is not a scientific fact

But we can’t avoid it—Human Design came into the world through a mystical event.

Since neutrinos have mass, they can carry “information.” The neutrinos passing through the body just before and at the moment of birth leave a kind of imprint on the genome and nervous system.

That imprint depends on the “information” the particle carries—defined by what part of the sky it came from and what celestial bodies it passed through. The sky is divided into 64 sectors, each corresponding to an I Ching hexagram.

Just imagine: a neutrino coming from the direction of hexagram 1, where Mars was located, would leave a different imprint than one from hexagram 32, where Saturn was.

Cosmic Programming

Alt text Each hexagram (and planet) has its own symbolic meaning. These meanings reflect in the “information” carried by neutrinos.

So, the star map at the moment of birth becomes the key to understanding how the universe shapes each person’s unique nature.

The Bodygraph

What you see in the center of the wheel is called the Bodygraph. It’s indeed the map of the body.

Alt text

See the numbers in squares and triangles? There are 64. Those are the I Ching hexagrams.

They’re grouped into energy centers—similar to chakras in other traditions.

The centers are connected through channels—flows of energy between them—called Paths of Life in Kabbalah.

Now imagine every cell in your body holding your DNA.

There are many types of cells: blood, muscle, nerves, hair. Each cell is unique—but all carry the same genetic code.

What sets cells apart is their “imprint”—their role and function

The empty Bodygraph is like a cell that holds the full human potential. We each carry this potential, but our roles are different.

Human Design is unique in that it shows how the sky’s layout at your birth created your genetic imprint—what makes you you.

The Bodygraph is calculated based on your birth date and time. It’s the tip of the iceberg.

Here’s what it can look like

Alt text

Every detail in the Bodygraph matters. The numbers, colors, symbols, and their combinations hold information about your imprint. Your traits, unique strengths, way of thinking, and interactions with others. In short, everything that makes you, you.

That’s what makes Human Design such a powerful and practical parenting tool.

Benefits for Your Child

By understanding your child’s design, you as a parent can discover what qualities they possess, what their inner challenges, dilemmas, and conflicts are. What complex themes they’ll encounter in life. And what they’ll be able to lean on throughout it.

What’s important to consider in their education, development, learning, and even nutrition.

You’ll be able to create an environment where every aspect of your child’s nature is supported. Where every element of their BodyGraph is reflected in your parenting strategy. Where your child feels valued for being themselves, rather than meeting external expectations.

Examples

The Solar Plexus Center is the place where emotions are born and live. If this center is defined, the person has an internal emotional rhythm: their mood naturally fluctuates, regardless of external circumstances.

Alt text

When the center is open, it functions like an antenna, picking up emotions from others. A person with this center can feel the joy, sorrow, or anxiety of people around them even more intensely than the people themselves.

This knowledge helps you better understand how your child experiences their emotions and interacts with the feelings of others.

For example, if your child has this center defined, but you have it open, you might notice your child being moody for no apparent reason. They might withdraw from favorite activities, shut down emotionally, or become distant.

With a generalized parenting approach

As a parent, you’ll definitely notice something’s off. Naturally, their state will worry you. With the best of intentions, you might try to cheer them up, distract them, or “fix” their mood. But this approach can send an unintended message: There’s something wrong with my emotions. I better hide them.

With awareness of their design

You’ll still notice the shift. But instead of trying to change your child’s emotional state, you’ll help them understand what’s going on. That emotional waves and mood shifts are normal for them. That they’re not something to avoid but to fully experience. And that their emotions can be a source of inspiration for others.

Of course, there are the other moments—when your child is glowing with happiness. These moments can simply be enjoyed. But they’re also a great opportunity to show your child how their emotions work.

Say, your child’s friend is sleeping over. Your child is so happy, they want to give away all 10 of their favorite teddy bears.

What can you do as a parent?

Suggest waiting until morning. If they still want to give them all away, then go ahead. But more likely, that wave will pass, and they’ll make a more grounded decision—like giving just one.

And that’s a golden moment for you—a real-life example you can gently refer back to next time your child wants to make an impulsive decision in the heat of emotion.

Or take the 25–51 Channel of Initiation, connecting the Ego and Identity Centers. People with this channel want to be the best at everything.

Alt text

For a child, one of the ways they know they’re “the best” is through their parents’ attention. A child with this channel will crave massive, intense attention. They’re incredibly brave—bordering on reckless—especially between the ages of 5–7. They might believe they’re invincible.

Or the 38th Gate – the Gate of Opposition

Located in the Root Center, which deals with adrenaline pressure.

Alt text

A child with this activation simply cannot back down when pressured. The more you push, the harder they’ll push back.

This is just a small peek through the window.

We could go on forever.

Now, let’s switch the focus—to you.

Benefits for the Parent

My daughter was born in early 2022. I looked at her BodyGraph 10 minutes after cutting the umbilical cord. Naturally, I apply Design knowledge in my parenting. When it comes to practical benefits, there are three key ones:

Confidence in your parenting strategy

Alt text

That peaceful feeling when you know what you’re doing and why. When you stop comparing your child to others. And stop expecting them to meet some external standard. When your child acts out, gets aggressive, or shuts down, you can understand why—and respond with clarity and support.

Confidence in your parental role

Once you understand your child’s BodyGraph, chances are, you’ll explore your own. Knowing your design helps you relax and just be yourself with your child— not try to embody some “perfect parent” ideal.

You know, not everyone is built to play pretend games for hours. And that’s okay.

Joy in interacting with your child

Alt text

You don’t need to just “take this on faith.” Human Design is an empirical system. Its validity can only be tested through personal experience.

I’m a pretty rational person myself. Master’s degree in Applied Math, 15 years in software development.

So how did I get into Human Design?

At a festival, a total stranger looked at a chart on my phone and dropped 3–4 insights about me—off the cuff. And they hit. It was me to a T.

The precision of what they said in just 5 minutes stunned me. So I thought, what is this Human Design thing?

Even at the surface level, it was a “wow.” The system explained me better than anything I’d encountered before. The aspects it illuminated weren’t horoscope fluff—they were too real to dismiss. It felt like finally getting that letter from Hogwarts.

Alt text

But instead of textbooks—there’s a link to the universe’s source code.

t was so cool, it felt almost too cool to be true.

Of course, I started looking for the trick. Tried to “break” the system. Tried to find the illusion it pulled on my mind.

Years passed. I studied every last detail, became a pro. Never found the trick. Still looking, though.

So, how do you learn to “read” a BodyGraph?

If the system is this amazing, maybe I should learn it too?

Maybe you should. Let me give you a quick overview—there are two paths.

Alt text

Full formal education

To read a BodyGraph with the confidence and accuracy needed to apply it to your child, you’d need to become a professional. There’s a structured training program that’s basically a full-on higher education. It takes 3 years and costs about $6,000. If you fall in love with Human Design, it’s a worthy investment.

Self-study using open sources

On the flip side, there’s tons of free information online. Which creates an illusion of accessibility. But here’s the catch—it’s fragmented. You can find explanations for each center, channel, gate—yes. But you won’t be able to weave it into a complete picture. You won’t feel confident in your understanding.

And it’ll still take a ton of time.

Because reading a BodyGraph isn’t just theory—it’s personal experience and lived practice.

So what should you do?

Alt text You don’t need to learn all the details yourself. I’ve already done that part. Human Design has become my life’s work.

I’ve seen again and again how this knowledge—translated from complex systems into simple, practical advice—can completely change the atmosphere in a home.

And I know it can help you unlock the unique brilliance of your child.
